The Rocky Mountains are in plain sight from suburban Broomfield and only 40 miles (a little over an hour drive) to Estes Park, the base of Rocky Mountain National Park. You can drive the park’s Trail Ridge Road for scenic views or hike to Chasm Lake, Alberta Falls, Twin Sisters Summit, and more.

If hiking isn’t your thing, but you still want to head outdoors for long walks, bike rides, or picnics, Broomfield itself boasts 10 parks and four trail systems that take up more than 700 acres. In fact, there are 16 acres for every 1,000 citizens, according to the city’s website. You can check out the parks’ amenities and take virtual tours online.
3. Employment Is Up and Rising

According to Money.com, employment increased in Broomfield by 35% over the last 10 years and is estimated to rise another 7% by 2025. This is in part due to the popular shoe company, Crocs, which opened its global headquarters in Broomfield in June 2020. Popular food companies Noodles & Company, TCBY, and Mrs. Fields have headquarters in Broomfield as well.
4. Concerts at 1STBANK Center

Post-pandemic, the 1STBANK Center is reopening in the fall of 2021 for live concerts, comedy shows, and more. It’s located in Broomfield near Flatiron Crossing, a mall where you can shop, dine, and stay overnight at a hotel. It’s a great location for anyone coming into town for an event at the center.
5. Breweries and Distilleries

There are four breweries and a distillery in Broomfield for enjoying craft beers and spirits. They include: 4 Noses Brewing Company, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Rails End Beer Company, Wonderland Brewing Company, and Whistling Hare Distillery. Try the Cat’s Pajamas, a wheat bock aged on whiskey and oak at Wonderland Brewing Company, or the slushie beer at 4 Noses. On another weekend, take a tour of the distillery and try its organic rum, bourbon or gin cocktails. You can’t go wrong visiting any of these watering holes.
6. It’s Close to Denver

If you need your fix of city life, Broomfield is less than 20 miles from downtown Denver, or about a 25-minute drive via 1-25 S. Head down for a night on the town and take advantage of its restaurants, museums, concerts, sporting events, and more.
